ISBE Outstanding Service Award

2011 Recipient Dr. Judith Olson-Sutton

The 2011 International Society for Business Education Outstanding Service Award was presented to Dr. Judith Olson-Sutton at the at the annual ISBE banquet on April 21 in New Orleans.

Judy attended her first international conference in Sweden in 1987 and has attended at least 18 conferences since then.  She has served the US Chapter of ISBE for many years, in the offices of U.S. Vice President, U.S. Chapter President-Elect, President, and Past President, Regional Representative, and member of the Strategic Planning Committee.  She is currently serving as SIEC-ISBE General Secretary since July 2007.

Judy retired as Associate Dean of the Business Division of Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin, where she supervised Business Administration and Computer Information Systems programs. Previously, she taught business education and was an assistant principal in a senior high school; she also taught business teaching methods at the University of Wisconsin.  She has a BBA in Business, an MS in Business Education, and a PhD. in Adult and Vocational Education with an emphasis in Leadership and Educational Administration.

Dr. Olson-Sutton has served in various leadership roles within many organizations at the state, regional, and national levels including serving as President of NBEA.  Judy continues her active involvement in professional organizations by serving on various task forces and committees.  She was honored for her contributions to the business education profession by receiving NBEA’s Distinguished Service Award by an Administrator and the Russell J. Hosler Award from the Wisconsin Business Education Association. She is also a co-author of a textbook, Business Communications at Work
